Which VAVA add-on camera fits your monitor? A model-by-model chart for the IH006, IH009, IH020, 720P PRO and 10th Edition, built only from VAVA's own compatibility notes.

VAVA monitors only pair within their own system. The 720P IH006 and IH009 share one add-on camera and one replacement screen, the 8-inch 1080P IH020 has its own, and the 720P PRO and the 10th Edition are each a separate system of their own. VAVA's camera pages put it bluntly: "Add-on cams cannot mix and match." The two add-on cameras look nearly identical in VAVA's own photos (shown below), so go by the model number. VAVA's camera pages ask you to "verify the model before placing your order."

I built the chart below only from statements on VAVA's US product pages and FAQs, read on October 16, 2026. Where VAVA says nothing about a combination, the chart says so instead of guessing from resolution or looks. If you're still choosing your first monitor, start with my VAVA IH009 vs Momcozy BM04 comparison.

Key Takeaways

  • Four systems, no crossover: classic 720P (IH006, IH009), 8-inch 1080P (IH020), the 720P PRO, and the 10th Edition. VAVA says the PRO and the 10th Edition each don't work with the classic 720P IH006 or other VAVA monitors.
  • For an IH006 or IH009: buy the 720P Add-On Baby Cam. The 1080P camera won't pair.
  • For an IH020: buy the 1080P Add-On Baby Cam. The 720P camera won't pair.
  • PRO and 10th Edition owners: VAVA's US baby collection listed no add-on camera for either on October 16.
  • Replacement screens: both the 5-inch and 8-inch parent units were sold out on October 16, and VAVA labels the 5-inch one "not for add-on purposes."

Step 1: find out which VAVA you have

Look for the model number on the box, the product label or the manual before you buy anything. Here is how VAVA's own pages name each system:

Name on VAVA's site Model Screen / camera Family
720P Video Baby MonitorVA-IH006 (the name VAVA's accessory pages use)5-inch, 720P (VAVA: “made for one main nursery”)Classic 720P
Baby Monitor with Split ScreenVA-IH009720P, 2 cameras (the IH009 page gives no screen size; VAVA's 5-inch replacement parent unit is listed for it)Classic 720P

5.5" 1080P Baby MonitorVA-IH0195.5-inch, 1080PNot in VAVA's US baby collection on October 16

If your monitor says 720P but you can't find a model number, don't buy by resolution. The PRO and the 10th Edition are 720P too, and VAVA says neither is compatible with the classic 720P IH006. Neither is on the 720P camera's compatibility list.

VAVA systems that pair only within themselves: classic 720P IH006 and IH009 with the 720P add-on camera and 5-inch parent unit; 8-inch 1080P IH020 with the 1080P add-on camera and 8-inch parent unit; and the 720P PRO and 10th Edition, each its own system with no add-on camera in VAVA’s US baby collection

✓ = VAVA lists it as compatible. ✗ = VAVA says it is not compatible. "Not listed" = the model isn't on that accessory's compatibility list and VAVA doesn't address it directly. *VAVA says the PRO is a separate system that isn't compatible with the original 720P monitor or its add-on cameras, and that the 10th Edition isn't compatible with the IH006 or any other VAVA monitor. Neither appears on any accessory's compatibility list. Sources: VAVA US product pages and FAQs, October 16, 2026.

Classic 720P: IH006 and IH009

VAVA 720P Add-On Baby Cam
For IH006 & IH009

VAVA 720P Add-On Baby Cam

VAVA · $105.99 (regular $129.99)

The only add-on camera VAVA lists for the IH006 and IH009. Not compatible with the 8-inch IH020.

The IH006 and IH009 are one system. VAVA's 720P Add-On Baby Cam lists both as compatible, the 5-inch replacement parent unit lists both, and each monitor's page says it connects up to four compatible 720P cameras. VAVA lists a direct 2.4GHz connection for the IH006 and says the IH009 needs no home Wi-Fi or phone app.

The difference is what comes in the box. The 720P Video Baby Monitor (IH006) is sold as a single “Baby Monitor” option at $159.99 (regular $189.99); VAVA describes it as made for one main nursery, and its page doesn't list the box contents. The Baby Monitor with Split Screen (IH009) is a two-camera set at $254.99 (regular $299.99), and VAVA says its split screen shows two live feeds at once. If the IH006 comes with one camera, adding a second 720P camera brings it to $265.98 at October 16 prices: $10.99 more than the IH009 set, which includes two. VAVA also lists split screen on the IH006 page, but only the IH009 page spells out two feeds at once.

Battery ratings differ slightly: VAVA rates the IH006 parent unit at up to 10 hours with the screen on and 24 hours audio-only, and the IH009 at 10 hours and 18 hours.

8-inch 1080P: IH020

VAVA 1080P Add-On Baby Cam
For IH020 only

VAVA 1080P Add-On Baby Cam

VAVA · $139.99

Pairs only with the 8-inch VA-IH020. Not compatible with the IH006, IH009, IH019 or the 5-inch parent unit.

Check price at VAVA →

The 8" 1080P Baby Monitor (IH020) is its own system with its own camera. VAVA's 1080P Add-On Baby Cam page lists only the VA-IH020 as compatible and names the exclusions outright: the 720P IH006 and IH009, the 5.5-inch 1080P VA-IH019 and the 5-inch parent unit. Like the 720P cameras it uses a 2.4GHz connection, and VAVA says it needs no Wi-Fi or app and rates it at up to 1,000 ft (300 m). The IH020 connects up to four cameras.

The IH020 was $229.49 on October 16 (regular $269.99) and the 1080P camera was $139.99 with no discount listed. VAVA also sells "Bambi 8" bundles of the IH020 plus extra cameras, which beat buying the pieces separately at those prices:

Setup Bundle price (regular) Monitor + cameras bought separately Bundle saves
IH020 + 1 add-on camera$355.99 ($399.99)$369.48$13.49
IH020 + 2 add-on cameras$475.99 ($529.99)$509.47$33.48
IH020 + 3 add-on cameras$599.99 ($659.99)$649.46$49.47

Moving up from 720P to 1080P means starting a new system. Your 720P cameras and 5-inch screen won't carry over to an IH020.

VAVA’s own product photos of its two add-on cameras. They look almost identical, and they don’t pair across systems.

The two that stand alone: 720P PRO and 10th Edition

Both of these are 720P monitors with a 5-inch screen, and both are easy to mistake for the classic IH006. VAVA says plainly that they are not:

  • The 720P Video Baby Monitor PRO ($169.99, regular $199.99) "is a separate system. It is not compatible with the Classic 720P Baby Monitor IH006 or other VAVA monitor systems." VAVA mentions support for "compatible PRO-system accessories," says it pairs up to four cameras, and its FAQ adds that it is "not compatible with the original 720P monitor or its add-on cameras. To expand your PRO system, please use PRO-compatible cameras only."
  • The 720P Baby Monitor 10th Edition ($199.99, regular $239.99) is "NOT Compatible with the Classic 720P Baby Monitor (IH006) or Any Other VAVA Monitors." It also pairs up to four cameras.

The practical catch: VAVA's US baby collection listed no add-on camera for either one on October 16. If you might want a second room later, check with VAVA that a matching camera exists before you choose a PRO or a 10th Edition.

One more trap sits on the classic IH006 page itself. It offers a "Baby Monitor (PRO Version)" option at $199.99, and in VAVA's own product data that option carries the same SKU as the 10th Edition listing. Given what VAVA says about the PRO and the 10th Edition, don't assume that option shares the IH006's cameras or screen. Confirm with VAVA which system you're getting before you buy accessories for it.

A model VAVA names but doesn't list

VAVA's 1080P camera page names one model that isn't in its US baby collection: the 5.5-inch 1080P VA-IH019, which it says the 1080P Add-On Baby Cam doesn't support. VAVA's US baby collection didn't list the IH019 or any accessory for it on October 16. If you own one, ask VAVA before buying a camera or screen for it.

Replacement screens and the bracket

  • 5-inch parent unit ($118.99, regular $139.99): compatible with the IH006 and IH009 only, and not with the IH020 or the 1080P camera. VAVA marks it "Screen only. Not for add-on purposes" and describes it as a replacement, so don't count on it as a second screen alongside the one you have. It was sold out on October 16, both on its own and as an option on the IH006 and IH009 pages. VAVA's page calls it a 5-inch unit, but one section of the same page describes a 5.5-inch display; if the exact size matters, ask VAVA.
  • 8-inch parent unit ($135.99, regular $159.99): for the IH020 and the 1080P camera, and not compatible with the IH006, IH009 or the 720P camera. Also sold out on October 16.
  • Monitor bracket ($14.99): VAVA lists it as "Compatible with VAVA baby monitors" at 16.5 inches long, but doesn't publish a model-by-model list.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use a VAVA 1080P camera with my 720P monitor?

No. VAVA says its 1080P Add-On Baby Cam works only with the 8-inch VA-IH020 and is not compatible with the 720P IH006 or IH009, the 5.5-inch IH019 or the 5-inch parent unit. For a 720P IH006 or IH009, buy the 720P Add-On Baby Cam.

Will the VAVA 720P Add-On Cam work with the 8-inch monitor?

No. VAVA's 720P camera page lists the IH006 and IH009 as compatible and says it is not compatible with the 8-inch 1080P IH020. The IH020 page says the same from the other side.

Is the VAVA 720P PRO compatible with IH006 cameras?

No. VAVA's PRO FAQ says it is not compatible with the original 720P monitor or its add-on cameras, and asks PRO owners to use PRO-compatible cameras only. VAVA's US baby collection listed no PRO camera on October 16, 2026. The 10th Edition carries a similar note: not compatible with the IH006 or any other VAVA monitor.

How many cameras can a VAVA monitor connect?

VAVA's pages give four cameras as the maximum for the IH006, IH009, IH020, 720P PRO and 10th Edition. They have to be cameras from the same family: 720P add-on cameras for the IH006 and IH009, and 1080P add-on cameras for the IH020.

Can I add a second parent unit to my VAVA monitor?

VAVA sells its 5-inch parent unit as a replacement for the IH006 or IH009 and labels it "Screen only. Not for add-on purposes," so don't plan on it as a second screen. Both VAVA replacement parent units were sold out on October 16, 2026.

How do I know which VAVA monitor I have?

Check the model number on the box, the product label or the manual: VA-IH006, VA-IH009, VA-IH020 and so on. If you can't find one, don't go by resolution alone. The 720P PRO and the 10th Edition are also 720P, and VAVA says neither is compatible with the classic 720P IH006.

A note from Kristi

Compatibility tables are where product listings quietly contradict themselves, and VAVA's are no exception: one page calls the same screen 5 inches and 5.5 inches, and a "PRO Version" option sits on the classic page. That's why this chart only marks a combination as compatible when VAVA says so in writing. If you're still deciding between a Wi-Fi-free monitor and one with an app, my VAVA IH009 vs Momcozy BM04 comparison starts there.
