HexisLab to scale up green ingredients production after funding boost

THE WHAT? HexisLab has secured a £490,000 funding grant from Innovate UK enabling it to develop a scale-up manufacturing process for its sustainable and green ingredients.  

THE DETAILS The company was awarded the funding in collaboration with Teeside University. The collaboration brings together HexisLab’s cutting-edge expertise in AI discovery process and with Teeside University’s research in synthetic biology.  

THE WHY? The funding will be used to further HexisLab’s research in sustainable ingredients using synthetic biology techniques. HexisLab aims to develop new biological ingredients that will have a lower environmental impact than traditional synthetic or animal-derived ingredients commonly used in the cosmetics, personal care, and pharmaceutical industries.
