The main impact of this cold front will be a surge of cooler air heading into Thursday. It will be breezy late tonight into Thursday morning, with low temperatures falling into the upper 40s and lower 50s. Despite plenty of sunshine, highs tomorrow will struggle to hit 70 degrees with all the cooler air in place. Even still, it should feel comfortable with dry, quiet conditions continuing through the end of the week. Mostly sunny skies with highs in the lower and middle 70s will be on tap for Friday as we head into the start of the holiday weekend. The most notable change to the forecast is on Saturday when it appears the high to our north will continue to hold a big influence over the area as a storm system approaches from the south. All of the dry air in place will keep it totally dry for the first day of Memorial Day weekend.
This storm system to our south will break the high pressure’s grip over the area by Sunday, but it doesn’t look like it will create a total washout. Some spotty showers and clouds are looking likely for Sunday and Memorial Day, but there will still be a lot of dry time in between. Southerly winds will push us into the upper 70s and lower 80s to end the holiday weekend, so all in all, it’s still looking good for whatever you have planned for the unofficial start of summer. The coastal low-pressure system will hang around one more day, producing spotty showers on Tuesday. It finally departs next Wednesday, opening the door for continued dry conditions but also much warmer temperatures as highs start to climb through the 80s.
